We have been in contact with a new motoring magazine recently, called MOG Mag, which is associated with owners of the lovely old Morgan cars here in the UK, and this seems to have been just the start of a surge of interest in our new Collection of driving gloves for spring and summer 2012.

The great American site for women drivers, www.vroomgirls.com, recently took a shine to our new look gloves, featuring our two tone ladies driving glove.  Obviously with the best cars, you have to have the best accessories, but in fact these gloves are great for all sorts of everyday occasions.

The colourways are terrific as well….they come in a range of designs and colourways including almond with black and my favourite, cornflower with putty (see below). Just £48 and available at the Dents online shop.

Dents handsewn deerskin driving gloves, selected as one of the Wall Street Journal‘s top 50 Holiday Gifts.

Editor’s Note: Our Design Assistant Katy had her Dents leather scoop handbag with her right through her western USA holiday last month.

“I loved how versatile it was – never too smart for a day trip out and never too casual for an evening meal in a nice restaurant. Knowing how much today’s climate has made everyone shy away from spending money I just wanted to let all our customers know that a good leather bag really is a good investment for years to come. My bag (as shown here) is still available, but for those who may be slightly more colour shy than me, it also comes in black or mocca. I just can’t believe how new it still looks given that it’s been my hand luggage on 6 flights, my beach bag, and still managed to look presentable in all the high end shops like Prada and Bally on Rodeo Drive!”

ABC News’ Bianna Golodryga and Nick Watt went to Selfridges, one of London’s top stores, to get some tips on what to wear for the Royal Wedding. When it came to gloves, there could only be one choice… it was great to see Dents on Good Morning America today  (if you don’t want to watch the whole segment, the part on Dents starts at minute 3.12 of the clip). An ABC fim crew visited our factory in Warminster, and those of you lucky enough to have seen the program will have caught glimpses of royal gloves from past weddings in our museum, as well as traditional glove handsewing in our factory.

You can read about Bianna and Nick’s day at Selfridges here. Selfridges’ stylist Sophie Hendley told Bianna that gloves for women were essential for a Royal Wedding. ABC went on to report that ” Dents gloves are the brand de jour, favored by the royal family, handstitched in Wiltshire for three centuries, and worn at many a royal wedding in bygone days”.

Our studded bow glove is back at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York after its success last winter, and I’m delighted to say this year we’re showcasing a new style as well. I especially like the little twist that Saks designers have come up with to make our beautiful studded leather glove exclusively their own…

We had a very successful men’s show in January at MRketNY, so we’ll be there again in July. The show is at the Javits Center, New York, July 18th - 20th. You’ll find us where we were last time, boothleather gloves exhibitionnumber 434 .

We’ll be adopting the same format we used last time. Dentswill be sharing the booth with Corgi Hosiery of Wales, Breuermenswear of France, and Codis Maya cufflinks of England. All four of us share the same US sales agent, Jim McKenry of theBird Dog Group.

It’s your last chance to fill in your Dents glove fall offerings after a very cold winter last year – as it is production on many styles is already sold out. Our sister company, Corgi Hosiery, has a new offering – a fine gauge version of their colourful cotton socks, made in Wales and complete with hand linked toe!

Contact Jim or ourselves for an appointment.

This fall you’ll be able to find Dents gloves at Henri Bendel, New York’s iconic fashion store for stylish young women. Those of you who know New York will certainly be familiar with Henri Bendel’s ladies bow back glovessignature brown and white striped shopping bags, almost as much a feature over there as Harrods’ green shopping bags are in London! Bendel’s is known for exciting charity parties and shopping events, frequent celebrity sightings, and entertaining and innovative window displays.Always a visionary in the world of women’s fashion, Henri Bendel opened his first shop in New York City in 1895, offering his chic clientele exquisitely-detailed hats and gowns of his own creation and from European designers. From the beginning, Bendel’s was a fashion destination, attracting both stylish New Yorkers and well-heeled visitors to the city. Henri was the first to introduce the young designer Coco Chanel to the United States, and the first to stage a fashion show in New York. The Bendel store on Fifth Avenue is itself a work of art, with its hundred year old façade and original Lalique glass windows, and is well worth a visit. Small wonder it has been granted official landmark status by the City of New York.
